SUMMARY:Course: Participatory Video (PV) for Monitoring\, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). Module 6
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: This training will take place each Wednesday from April 12th until June 7th\, from 10-11.30 am CEST \nWHY: Much too often\, others – usually the project delivery staff – are reporting on the project results on behalf of participants. Furthermore\, these stories tend to be recorded in written format\, meaning that in contexts of low literacy\, the stories are being recorded in a medium that is inaccessible to the actually involved population. Using Participatory Video\, selected stories are recorded on video by participants themselves\, making the information accessible and useable. \nUsing PV can help participants tell their stories and communicate their perspectives in an accessible\, compelling and versatile format through a participatory process. We will use PV in combination with (an adapted version of) the Most Significant Change technique in order to gain valuable insights on Monitoring and Evaluation. \nThis course will run over 9 sessions. Each session will be 1.5 hours\, in which we will give a theoretical overview\, we will explain practical PV exercises that are fun and participatory for you to repeat in your own projects\, will have brief brainstorming sessions and there will be a short homework session. \nThroughout these 9 modules\, we will dive into the ´why´ participatory video and how this is different from other participatory methods and/or documentary filmmaking. We will touch upon the ethics and challenges of facilitating a PV process and how to deal with difficult situations. After this\, we will focus on the crossroads of PV and M&E and go through the different steps and exercises. We will end with how to conduct a participatory paper edit and how to disseminate the final video. \nWHO: This training course will be given by Manon Koningstein\, an independent consultant on audiovisual communications with multiple years of experience in conducting PV courses and training with CGIAR as well as with InsightShare. \nWHOM: We invite the Communication focal points as well as M&E officers of the interested DeSIRA projects to attend.

Insights will be useful for researchers or project managers for having a visual overview of the offer of ISS\, for identifying potential organizations to work with or for adapting the project strategy accordingly. \nThis module is replicated two times on April 14th\, 2023: \n\n10.00-12.00 a.m. CEST: English-speaking session\n3.00-5.00 p.m. CEST: French-speaking session (Spanish-speaking session can be organised on demand)\n\nRegistration link here. Registration closes on the 11th of April \nOnce registration is closed\, you will receive a confirmation by email and information to access the course. \n\nExpert: This special session will be given by the senior experts in AIS and Action-Research.\nTarget audience: We invite the project coordinators\, managers and M&E officers of the interested DeSIRA projects to attend together.\nContact for more information: service@desiralift.org\nFor detailed course information\, please see here

SUMMARY:Course: Participatory Video (PV) for Monitoring\, Evaluation and Learning (MEL). Module 1
Each session will be two hours\, in which we will give a theoretical overview\, we will explain practical PV exercises that are fun and participatory for you to repeat in your own projects\, will have brief brainstorming sessions and there will be a short homework session.

DESCRIPTION:Does your project aim to leverage local agricultural innovations but you don’t know how to select or prioritize them? Is your objective to engage local farmers in innovation processes\, but you don’t know how to identify these farmers? Do you want to scale out agricultural innovations\, but you must first understand how these innovations work in their specific context? \nThese questions are central to the Innovation Tracking Approach and will be the focus of this special session. In the form of a three-hour workshop\, the special session will have several learning objectives. \nObjectives \n\nUnderstand the different types of local innovations in the agricultural sector;\nUnderstand what an innovation tracking approach is\, and how it can leverage local agricultural innovations;\nDesign an innovation tracking approach adapted to your own Desira project.\n\nMore information about the Innovation Tracking Approach here. \nThe session will be online and replicated two times: \n\nFrench session on March 29th\, 2023\, from 11:00 am to 14:00 pm (CEST)\nEnglish session on March 30th\, 2023\, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm (CEST)\n(Spanish session on demand)\n\nRegistration: \nRegistration link here.
